Masuma joined Chambers after the successful completion of her pupillage in 2014. She has a broad practice covering Family and general civil work.
Masuma is developing a busy practice in applications for Child Arrangements Orders and Prohibited Steps Orders. She acts for parents in disputes about contact and has experience of cases involving allegations of serious domestic abuse and implacable hostility. She has accepted instructions in relation to all stages of proceedings, including appearing on behalf of applicants and respondents at First Hearing Dispute Resolution Appointments and contested final hearings.
Masuma regularly undertakes applications for Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders. She has considerable experience of representing vulnerable clients in emergency injunctions.
Masuma also accepts instructions financial disputes and is keen to develop this area of her practice.
Masuma appears in the county court representing both Claimants and Defendants in small claims, infant approvals, disposal hearings and possession hearings.
During her pupillage Masuma drafted statements of case, schedules of loss and written advices in areas such as Employment Law, Personal Injury, Contract and Landlord and Tenant.
Before coming to the Bar Masuma worked for HM Courts & Tribunals Service and volunteered with the National Centre for Domestic Violence.
