Practice Profile

Prior to joining Stour, Stuart formed part of the management team at a nationwide solicitor’s firm based in Canary Wharf, London. Stuart gained significant advocacy experience in this role and regularly attended and conducted hearings in both the High and County Courts. He aims to develop a client focussed practice by giving clear, practical and commercially minded advice.

Specialist Practice Areas

General Civil/Commercial

Stuart has experience in all types of interim and final hearings in the County Court. He has experience of commercial and contractual disputes and personal injury claims (across all tracks and including disposal hearings).

Traditional Chancery

Stuart has regularly attended and has instructed others in relation to landlord and tenant, real property and other housing related matters. He has particular experience in mortgage related hearings and their associated appeals. He has been involved in complex matters which have involved commercially important and sensitive issues.


Stuart is able to accept instructions in all areas of insolvency litigation. He has particular experience in personal insolvency and winding up petitions.


Given his experience, Stuart is also well suited to accepts instructions in relation to financial relief and TOLATA applications.

Hobbies and other interests

Before joining Stour, Stuart lead his firm’s corporate social responsibility program. He was responsible for event management and raised many thousands of pounds for various charities.

Stuart is (or likes to think he is) a successful long-distance runner; he has completed several marathons and countless half marathons all over Europe.

When Stuart is not running, he and his wife spend most of their spare time travelling and exploring with their young daughter.
